Hi, Monica here. I hope you love what you've seen so far, and I guess I should share a little bit about myself.  I was born and raised in the New Orleans area. I realized my passion for photography in high school, shortly before Hurricane Katrina. It started out pretty artsy, playing with hyper saturated colors and funky angles, but I learned the importance of documenting a moment in time when the hurricane hit. My parents used some of the images for insurance claims purposes, which proved extra helpful. Sadly, I no longer have the images because I didn't learn my lesson yet about having backups. (I had posted the images on a blogging site that eventually got over taken by Facebook.)

During the course of my college career, I pursued a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication. I worked in broadcast news for seven years, all while still exploring my own visual style. Eventually, I decided to dedicate my time to photography.

It's been a journey creating images that are light and airy, to dark and moody.  I've also come to appreciate many forms of photography, from documentary to fashion.

I've been enjoying the ride, and I hope you do, too.

I currently live in Shreveport with my husband.
